FAQ

I am a Beginner surfer. Which boards are best for me?

We highly recommend the Roller, Sally Fitz, The Middie. These boards are designed specifically so learners can easily paddle onto waves and jump to their feet. They create a very stable platform for surfers of all ages to confidently ride waves and learn the basic skills of surfing.

I am an Intermediate surfer. Which boards are best for me?

We highly recommend the Filipe Toledo Wildfire, Bomber, EG Flash. These boards have a more refined shape compared to typical ‘learner’ boards which are great for surfers looking to start turning and riding the faces of waves.

I am an Advanced surfer. Which boards are best for me?

We recommend the The Triplet, Mason Twin, Lil Ripper. These boards have a similar feel and performance between a fibreglass board. The double-sided slick is the closest Softboard material to a traditional shortboard.

Do all boards come with Fins included?

All boards include Soft Safety fins depending on the fin system FCS II Softflex Fins or VHS Soft Screw In Fins. Both these systems can accommodate a variety of glass fins.

Do I need to wax my Softboard?

We recommend waxing your softboard very lightly before each session to ensure maximum grip while your surfing.

Can I apply a tail pad / deck-grip to my Softboard?

All double sided slick boards can have a pad / mid-decks applied to them; please follow installation instructions. Make sure the surface is dry & clean. The Foam top coated Softboards will not stick, we do not recommend applying pads to these boards.

What is the benefit of the FCS II Fin System in my Softboard?

With the FCS II system, the need for any screws or tools to secure the fins has been eliminated. Simply insert the front of the fin into the plug and use downward pressure to lock the fin in place. Easily insert & remove the fins based on the wave conditions or the riders ability.

Using FCS II fins in your softboard, will add extra speed, control and drive to your foamie game. It's super easy to swap out your fins to suit the conditions & how you want to surf. No screws or key needed.

I have a fin chop on my board. How do I repair this myself?

We recommend using a standard clear silicone that can be found at any generic hardware store, make sure the board has been dried out before applying the silicone to the affected area. Seal down any raised foam and patch hole till it is flat on the surface. Make sure silicone is dry and area/hole is sealed before entering the water.
